Controversy seems to hound Mollywood superstar Mohanlal. A year ago,
Income Tax sleuths booked him for illegal possession of ivory at his
house. Now, 11 months later, the forest department has registered a case
against the actor before the Perumbavoor Judicial Magistrate, under the
Wildlife protection Act 1972, for the same reason.
However, the actor seems to be unperturbed with the latest development. "Every media house has reported this matter in its own way. It seems like nobody is interested in knowing the truth," says Mohanlal. Explaining the situation, Mohanlal tells us, "Those elephant tusks were with me for the past 26 years. They have even been featured in many newspapers as well. What I have in possession also has all the required records. There is nothing improper or illegal in the matter. Do you really think I will kill an elephant for its tusks?"
"I feel bad that even journalists pursue news like this without even checking facts. Is this really an issue? Is there a dearth of news? There are so many other issues to be addressed in society," says Mohanlal.
Meanwhile Mohanlal is looking forward to the release of his book, which is a compilation of his blogs. Mohanlal is looking forward to the release of his book, Hridhayathinte Kaiyoppu ( Signature of the heart), which is a compilation of his blogs. "Over the last 34-36 months, I have been writing my blog. I was particular about writing it in my own hand writing," says the actor. His blogs are his expressions of suppressed thoughts and emotions. "When you are a public figure, it's very difficult to express what you feel. Through my blog, I write about those suppressed thoughts. They help me express myself. I believe, I have the right to write," says the actor.
He further adds that, he is a spontaneous writer. "I'm very spontaneous about reactions. What I feel at that moment, I write. But if you ask me a month later, I might not feel the same, and may not even think it is right anymore," explains the superstar.
He further adds that, these writings are not literary classics. There could be grammatical errors or even spelling mistakes. But he feels that's the beauty of writing. "In fact, these writings are a letter to God; speaking to him, arguing and sharing with him what I feel."
